"The opening of the 'Student Researcher' Scholarship Program for the 2024-2025 Academic Year has taken place"
The opening ceremony of the 14th academic year of the "Student Researcher" scholarship program, organized by the Antoon Mostaert Center for Mongolian Studies(AMT), a part of the CICM organization, was held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the AMT office.Herve Kuafa Lontsi, the director of AMT, gave an opening speech, and M. Bilguunchimég, a graduate of the "Student Researcher" program, an academic researcher at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Institute of Language and Literature, and a doctoral student, welcomed the attendees with the sound of the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle).
Next, Dr. (Ph.D.) G. Naran Tungalag presented the organization of the student research conference, the process of selecting the best papers, and how editorial reviews were conducted for the papers submitted for publication in academic journals.
The winners of the student research conference were then announced:
First place: Ts. Namuun, a third-year student of the Conservation and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments at the School of Arts and Sciences, Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).
Second place: Ts. Tögsbaatar, a third-year student of Literary Studies at the Humanities and Social Sciences Department of MUST.
Third place: Z. Khishigbayar, a second-year student of Mongolian Language and Literature at the National Humanities and Social Sciences School of the Mongolian University of Education (MUBIS).
Special prize: B. Buyanjargal, a third-year student of Archaeology at the School of Arts and Sciences, MUST.
In addition, the "Best Supervisor" award, which is given to a teacher who has guided student research and supported the activities of the AMT, was awarded to B. Batchimég. The awards included certificates, cash prizes, and valuable items, which were presented by Erve Kuafa Lonci, the director of AMT, and Ph.D. G. Tsetsegdari.
A total of 32 students from various departments participated in the "Student Researcher" scholarship program for the 2023-2024 academic year. These students came from the Mongolian Language and Linguistics Department, Department of Literature and Art Studies, Department of Asian Studies at the School of Humanities, the Anthropology and Archaeology Departments at the School of Social Sciences, the Department of Innovation Technology at the School of Arts and Sciences, and the Mongolian Language and Literature Department at the National Humanities and Social Sciences School of MUBIS. From these, 18 students had their papers published in the thirteenth volume of the "Academic Chain" student research journal.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ph.D.G. Tsetsegdari, the initiator and leader of the "Student Researcher" scholarship program and head of the Mongolian Language Department at MUBIS, Dr.Ph.D. G. Naran Tungalag, a member of the editorial board of the "Academic Chain" journal and a lecturer at the Department of Literature and Art Studies at MUST, S. Byambadorj, a lecturer at the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at MUST, Dr. (Ph.D.) J. Ganbaatar, a lecturer at the Department of Mongolian Language and Linguistics at MUST, and I. Davaadorj, a doctoral student at the Department of Literature and Art Studies at MUST, (Ph.D.) R. Sarangerel, a lecturer at the Mongolian Language Department at MUBIS, B. Batchimeg, a senior conservator-restorer at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, as well as representatives of alumni from the "Student Researcher" program, student researchers, and AMT staff.
The ceremony ended with words of encouragement for the students, wishing them success in their future academic and research endeavors. The CICM organization, which fully supports the implementation of the scholarship program, and the AMT management were also thanked for their ongoing support.
