"Opening ceremony" 2021-2022

The opening of the 11th academic year of the "Student Researcher" scholarship program, organized by the Antoon Mostaert Center for Mongolian Studies, was held.

The event was attended by Dr. N. Gerelmaa, a faculty member of the Department of Asian Studies at the National University of Mongolia (NUM), Dr. G. Narantungalag, a faculty member of the Department of Literature and Arts, Dr. D. Nyamdorj, A. Tsend-Ayush, Dr. D. Soronzon, head of the Department of Mongolian Language at the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE), Dr. R. Sarangerel, a faculty member of the Department of Archaeology at the School of Oriental Studies of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), and other distinguished guests. The event was also attended by representatives of past graduates of the program and staff from AMT.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, 24 students participated in the "Student Researcher" scholarship program, and 18 students had articles published in the "Academic Chain" journal. Additionally, as part of the 10th anniversary of the program, AMT published the "Academic Chain" journal, which included articles from five graduates of the "Student Researcher" program, totaling 23 articles.

During the opening event, students who placed first in the 2020-2021 academic year's Student Research Conference were awarded certificates and valuable prizes. The first place was awarded to B. Khaliun, a fourth-year student in Turkish Language and Studies at NUM, second place to M. Oyu-Erdene, a graduate of the NUM Literature Program, third place to J. Enkhzul, a fourth-year student in Archaeology at the School of Oriental Studies, and third place to S. Enkhtsetseg, a fourth-year student in Literature Studies at NUM, and D. Byambajargal, a third-year student in Mongolian Language and Literature. These students were recognized for their outstanding presentations. B. Khaliun, a fourth-year student in Turkish Language and Studies at NUM, gave a speech on behalf of the students of the "Student Researcher" program.

Faculty members who guide student research and support the activities of AMT were also recognized. Dr. N. Gerelmaa from the Department of Asian Studies at NUM, Dr. G. Narantungalag and Dr. D. Nyamdorj from the Department of Literature and Arts, and Dr. T. Iderkhangai from the Department of Archaeology at the School of Oriental Studies were honored with appreciation and monetary awards.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Student Researcher" program, alumni of the program presented valuable gifts to AMT. Dr. D. Soronzon, head of the Department of Mongolian Language at MNUE, and M. Bilguunchimeg, an editor at Monsudar Publishing , also donated samples of their intellectual works.

We wish all the faculty and students who attended the opening of the 2021-2022 academic year of the scholarship program great success in their research and academic endeavors and express our gratitude. We also extend our thanks to the CICM organization and the AMT leadership for providing the conditions and support for the implementation of the scholarship program.
